Supporting the latest Microsoft® DirectX™ 10.1 and OpenGL 2.1 graphics architectures for smooth, realistic 3D gaming, jaw dropping Hi-Def video playback and the latest display connectivity, the 4300E is tailor-made for next-generation multimedia intensive embedded applications.

Powerwise™ architecture allows dynamic adjustments of core and memory clock frequencies and voltage to ensure further energy efficiency without compromising on performance.

Embedded system developers can now take advantage of a highly programmable video core that is fully compatible with DirectX™ VA 2.0 media acceleration interface and Blu-ray™ with codec support including WMV-9 HD, MPEG-2 HD, VC-1, H.264 and AVS. The S3 Graphics 4300E also includes support for both LVDS, DVI, HDMI/HDCP and CRT display connectivity.

Flexible Power Savings & Performance
The S3 Graphics 4300E can be configured to run with an internal engine clock speed of up to 300Mhz for fanless operation with scalable performance of up 500 MHz in a GDDR2 configuration. Using the latest GDDR3, the S3 Graphics 4300E can be configured with clock speeds of up to 650MHz and memory speeds of up to 900MHz on the PCIe 2.0 bus. Both GDDR2 and GDDR3 memory configurations support up to 256MB max.

AcceleRAM™ Technology
Additional graphic memory can be supported through AcceleRAM™ technology which dynamically manages total video memory size by using a combination of dedicated and system memory. Data transfers between system memory and GPU take place on-the-fly across the PCIe bus.

Programmable DirectX 10.1 Graphics Core
The S3 Graphics 4300E processor architecture includes dynamically allocated execution units for its Unified Shader 4.1 Geometry, Vertex and Pixel shaders. DirectX 10.1 compatible Geometry shaders allow more complex manipulation of primitives, shadows and material effects for greater High Dynamic Range Rendering (HDR) and a more realistic gaming experience. Programmable shaders provide a rich user experience fro Direct3D, OpenGL and video rendering.  

Advanced Power Management
The S3 Graphics advanced power management technologies include dynamic clock controls and integrated sensor technology. Individual execution units can also be turned off when idle which allows additional power savings. The S3 Graphics 4300E also supports PCIe ASPM which helps minimize power consumption dramatically.

Advanced Integration for Display and Audio
The S3 Graphics 4300E incorporates two dual-link DVI transmitters, each with integrated HDMI and HDCP and an integrated LVDS transmitter. Integrated support for twp analog displays is also included. The S3 Graphics 4300E also features S3 Graphics integrated HD Audio controller and codec.

Hi-Def Programmable Video Engine
The S3 Graphics 4300E uses an advanced high quality video engine that is fully compatible with Microsoft® DirectX-VA 2.0 media acceleration supports Protected Video Playback (PVP) of a wide range of video codecs including WMV-9 HD, MPEG2 HD, VC-1, H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC) and AVS. Hi-Def playback of Blu-ray media is possible with lower CPU utilization. PVP support for HD Premium content includes PVP-UAB (User-Accessible Bus) and display output protection.

Vista Premium Certified
The S3 Graphics 4300E is fully WHQL certified for Vista Premium implementations and include support for WDDM, WEI, AES encryption and decryption, Virtual memory and ClearType.
