GammaChrome includes several enhancements that will be of interest to developers.

There have been several improvements pixel shader processing.  GammaChrome has higher precision pixel shader processing, for better numerical accuracy.  Also, it has more temporary registers for pixel shader programs.

For better support of shadowing in games, GammaChrome has increased performance for stenciling, especially when used for rendering shadow volumes.  For shadow maps, there is now special support for this mode, including “percentage closer” filtering.

GammaChrome now supports a maximum size of 4096x4096 for textures, as compared to the maximum 2048x2048 in previous products.

GammaChrome also supports the DX9 depth query feature.

For video, Gamma Chrome now supports WMV9 video processing in hardware.
